
Professor Helliker is a Research Professor Emeritus in Sociology. He heads the Unit of Zimbabwean Studies and is the main host of the Africa Research and Knowledge Hub (ARKH) in the department (https://khaafrica.org/). He also sits on the Steering Committee of the South African Agroecology Knowledge Network (www.agroecologyknowledgenetworksa.org/) and heads its Agroecology and Technology Working Group.
He is currently undertaking research on diverse topics relating to agroecology, multi-species and technology, while also supervising a number of PhD candidates.
